Speed Matters. High performance teams really value speed not just for its own sake but also because real speed can only happen when the culture is intensely anti-friction and maximally decentralized (i.e high trust).
There is very little understanding of a basic truth: the best organizations are faster and better, going slower doesn’t usually improve things or make them ‘safer’. Sloth combined with complex process is how elements of the bureaucracy stop things they don’t like. If you can’t enforce speed, then you often can’t achieve your goals especially if they’re unpopular with middle management.
